This new juried exhibition features the art of woodturners from around the state of Michigan and highlights both functional and artistic forms of lathe-turned wood. Throughout the selected works, these artists and artisans have created pieces that promote the natural beauty and process of discovery that brings joy to those so inspired by their medium and privileged to work its magic. For this exhibition, woodturning artists were encouraged to submit work that addressed a variety of approaches to creating lathe-turned objects. Also, in an effort to promote understanding of this artform, the exhibition is unusual in that it features live woodturning demonstrations on most Saturdays through the exhibition dates. We hope that, as you share in the spirit of this exhibition, you’ll also be drawn in by these rings of inspiration.
